Member Meet-up: All Things Horses!
Saturday, June 14th
Wear comfy clothing and OLD shoes for a ranch walk-about. Hiking boots or rubber boots are highly recommended. Western wear bandanas will be provided by The Brinton. We ask participants to leave their vehicles at the museum to reduce the number of cars on the JC Ranch property.
- 9:00 AM – Meet up in The Brinton Museum parking lot for a walking tour of the Saddle Barn followed by a walk over picturesque Little Goose Creek bridge to the Brinton Barn to see the interior of the barn and one of the prettiest views of Little Goose Canyon from the west side of the property.
- 9:30 AM – The group will then assemble in the museum van, at the barn, to head to JC Ranch on Beaver Creek Road in Big Horn where Perk Connell will give a guided tour of her horse property – one of the finest in Sheridan County. Perk has been a horse person her entire life and was President of Big Horn Polo Club for years making an indelible presence in the sport. JC Ranch breeds thoroughbred polo horses on the property. Perk created the “Horspital” where she cares for injured horses and takes in mares ready to foal.
- 10:30 AM – From JC Ranch, the group continues for a tour of King’s Saddlery Museum on Main Street.
- 11:00 AM – Arrive at Kings Saddlery Tour
- 12:00 PM – Members can enjoy lunch on their own at The Cowboy Cafe, Java Moon, or Midtown Cafe, as suggestions.
- 1:15 PM – Everyone is asked to assemble in front of King’s Saddlery. The Brinton group will be shuttled back to the museum to end the day’s Meet-Up!
This event is free and offered for Brinton Museum members.
